About Us

The Christian Resources Project is a registered charity set up to promote and encourage Christian education: making resources available where they are needed as well as where they can be afforded And we've been doing that for over 30 years.  We're based in Plymouth and most of our face to face ministry takes place in Devon and Cornwall.  But we're really happy to supply books and resources anywhere in the UK - and help out in other ways where that's appropriate.  The work we're currently doing includes:-
  • Schools Ministry: In partnership with SWYM (www.swym.org.uk) we help local churches build links with local schools by supplying trainee youth and schools workers and through a variety of book and resource related projects.  We provide free bookpacks for school libraries and are extending this scheme into pre-school groups.  We are currently developing a new storytelling based programme for primary schools where each session ends with an opportunity for children to buy books at bargain prices.
  • Resource Ministry: We run a resource centre at 14 Lipson Road, Plymouth, PL4 8PW (open Mon-Fri 9-5 & Sat 10-4) which specialises in books and resources for children, young people and those who work with them.  Within this specialised area we like to think that we have one of the biggest and best selections of books and resources in the country.
  • Discipling Ministry: Mike Law, CRP's founder and project leader, preaches regularly in local churches, runs training courses for small group leaders and children's workers and acts as a consultant/advisor to  a number of churches and groups.  Mike writes regularly for Scripture Union's dated Bible reading materials and is a contributor to the recently published All Age Lectionary Services (published by SU). He has written Multi-Sensory Prophets (SU); Small Groups Growing Churches (out of print but still available from CRP) and Help! What's It All About (again out of print but available from CRP.)
